School Governor Wanted

Wanted – New Governors

Chapel Allerton Primary School

Chapel Allerton Primary is a large, multicultural primary school in North Leeds.  Our school motto, 'Nurturing a lifelong love of learning', summarises the commitment of every member of our staff team, to personalising our teaching and learning enabling every child to succeed.

We are currently seeking to recruit new Governors to our Governing board.

Who do we want?

The only ‘must have’ quality is an interest in the welfare of children and their education.

Governors can be drawn from all walks of life and to reflect the diversity within our school and community we particularly welcome expressions of interest from black and minority ethnic people.

No specialist or prior knowledge is necessary; lots of training and support is provided.

What does the Governing Board do?

The role of the governing board is a strategic one, its key functions are to:

  • set the aims and objectives for the school
  • monitor and evaluate the progress the school is making to achieve its aims and objectives
  • challenge and support the Headteacher (a critical friend)
  • make the tough decisions about balancing resources.

So, if you have an interest in education and can commit to approximately 4 evenings per term and occasional events, we’d be delighted to hear from you!
