We wish to recruit a talented and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to work in our Reception (Foundation Two). A new pupil is joining our school who has Down Syndrome and requires a skilled Teaching Assistant who can make the most of their academic ability and support personal and social development.
The ability to communicate with Makaton and experience of children with Down Syndrome would be advantageous. Intimate care and building excellent relationships with the child's family will be important aspects of the role.
The post is to work 8.30am - 3.20pm every day (30 hours per week).
The post will be temporary until 31.08.19, starting as soon as possible. Although this vacancy is temporary, we hope the position will be permanent in the longer term.
You should have good behaviour management skills, have the ability to communicate effectively with parents and staff, and be flexible and able to work on your own initiative. The successful candidate will join a team of caring, hardworking practitioners and be both supported and challenged to enhance their skills.
