  • Uniform

We are proud of our smart and practical uniform and encourage all children to wear it. The school colours are navy blue and black/grey. We have  navy blue sweatshirts/cardigans and blue/white polo shirts with the school logo on for sale from school. This is to be worn with grey or black trousers, skirts or pinafore. Regarding footwear, we expect all children to attend school in tough, dark-coloured sturdy shoes as these enable safe playing and ensure comfort during the day even when the weather is wet. We also sell book bags which are strongly advised, we do not encourage backpacks/rucksacks due to limited space in our cloakrooms. We hope that parents will ensure their children are always neatly turned out for school.

For physical education and games, children must have a change of clothes for health and safety reasons. A white sports shirt and navy blue shorts (or leotard/tracksuit) and trainers or pumps are required. Trainers may only be worn for outside PE lessons. In KS2 we operate a policy of single sex changing.

New rules regarding Jewellery and Physical Education –

to come into effect from 1st September 2026

We are a member of the Leeds Well Schools Partnership which supports around 150 Leeds Primary Schools. We benefit by being invited to a wide range of sporting opportunities ranging from the recent Dance Spectacular, when children performed at Headingley before a Leeds Rhinos match to athletics, cross country, football and golf events.

We have decided to adopt the Leeds Well School policy for personal items to ensure a safer working and participation environment for all pupils and staff during PE.

From September, pupils must remove the following personal items:

     • Jewellery, including body piercings

     • Religious artefacts

     • Watches

     • Hair slides and similar accessories

    • Religious headwear must not be loose-fitting in a way that could get caught, restrict movement, or cause injury. Sport-specific hijabs and other forms of secure religious headwear may be worn and we will stock a number of these.

These requirements apply to all pupils to reduce the risk of injury to themselves and others when taking part in physical activity or movement-based events.

We will not accept disclaimers from parents or schools regarding the wearing of jewellery or religious adornments, as such indemnities carry no legal validity.

I strongly recommend parents/carers support children by not sending them to school with any of the above items on the days they participate in PE. Failing this, children need to be able to independently remove the items and have to be responsible for looking after them.

Please also remember that the only allowed jewellery in school on any day are stud earrings while simple digital/analogue watches are permitted, too.

Necklaces, bracelets, Smart Watches and nail polish/make-up are not permitted.
